A drawing of Tristan.

Ordinary, one of a kind,  brave to go to the dump, has a name, Grown up, different, risk-taker, unknown, wonder, worried, lonely and not afraid.

This is my drawing what I think Tristan looks like when he is grown up and some keywords that describes Tristan. Also some questions about Tristan.

Is he responsible for what he is doing?
Does he know where he is going to?
Does he let his parents know?
Does he have any friends?

Sleeping Beauty (The Viewer).

Hi this is my new post about Tristan descended into a restless sleep (The Viewer). Me and my class have read the book and we saw some photos that Tristan was looking at into a machine with a disc in it.chrome-extension://mmeijimgabbpbgpdklnllpncmdofkcpn/app.html#/files/34426091-5c84-4427-y716-aef01f5e3117

Remember poetry

That Was Camp.

Remember When I did Waka Ama and I thought I was strong enough to paddle?
Remember When I was surfing I had to get my board but instead I got pushed out in the tide?
That was camp.

Remember when I did Archery  I was pretending that I was left handed but because I wanted to have a go and that I had an improvement for getting a bullseye AWESOME!?
Remember when I was doing Raft building and I didn’t know how to do it with a small rope but though when we worked as a team I learned how it is important to know how to tie knot?
That was camp.

Remember when I was partners with Veronica she was laughing because she left me float out to the tide?
Do you remember when you were having the most FUN time at CAMP?

4/06/2015 JA Speed Write The hot helium gas stars.

[The blazing hot stars]

[Introduction]

Have you ever looked up in the sky and looked at the blazing hot stars. Did you know that red stars are cold and blue stars are hot, these are some facts about the blazing hot stars

[Paragraph 1 - change this to your first subheading Types of stars]

There are different colors of stars there are blue, red and ultraviolet. Red stars-are most common red dwarfs. One of the smallest known stars in our galaxy is VB 10. It is only around 20% larger than jupiter. During a supernova event, enough light is released is outshine an entire galaxy of billion of stars.

[Life Cycle]

For a star to be born which is called Nebulae it needs a clump of dust and gas. The life span of our own star the sun is around 10 billion years. When a giant star begins to die, its center shrinks. A star will become either a black dwarf, neutron star or a black hole, depending  on how massive it was. Stars are formed in nebulae, interstellar cloud of dust and gas (mostly hydrogen).

[General Information]

Stars can live for billions of years. The sun is a star too it is the closest star to earth. Ancient civilization knew when a year had passed by observing changing patterns in the stars. The name star came from the ancient Greek word ‘aster’ which means star. There are stars that comes only on matariki they are all sister’s. Hot is enough to turn gold like our sun, but it shine’s for much longer.

[Appearance]

The giant star may have disappeared from sight but its gravity remains. Did you also know that Sirius (the brightest star) it is the first star you will see. On a clear Moonless night, you will notice two fuzzy patch as of light. the smaller one is called Magellanic cloud!  Most Stars are too small to shine bright as the sun. Many stars and the sun, have spots on their surface which are the cooler areas.

My heading/title: The hot helium gas star!

  • is an interesting title (I might have phrased the title as a question.)

My opening paragraph/introduction:

  • says what my report is about in a clear way

  • gives a general “classification” – and maybe a technical classification

  • outlines the main features of the subject

My main paragraphs/body paragraphs:

  • have clear topic sentences  (topic and main point)

  • are organised so that each paragraph is about a different aspect of the subject

  • give detailed information (factual descriptions)

  • include specific, technical vocabulary

  • are generally balanced (have a similar amount of detail about the different aspects I write about)

  • may have helpful: tables, pictures and/or diagrams to add information

My end paragraph/conclusion:

  • draws the report together/sums up my main points

  • may give a personal opinion; ask the reader a question and/or tell the reader where further information may be found

2015 Term 2 week 5 the hot red firing ball Mars.

In Week 5 of Term 2 our class focussed on how to write great information reports. We wrote about the planet Mars as we are in the middle of learning about Planet Earth and Beyond. Learning how to write a great information report will help us with our self-guided topics in a few weeks time. Here is my writing, after I have self-assessed and peer-assessed my work.

Introduction
Already in five seconds you’ll be taken on a journey facts about Mars. Also these facts about Mars are really interesting because if you have been dreaming about looking at facts about Mars you are looking in the right place.

The Orbit of Mars
Even though Mars is our closest neighbour, its orbit is very different. A Martian day (or how long it takes to rotate once on its axis) is longer than an Earth day and equals 24 hours and 37 minutes. This is because it spins slower than our planet. Moreover, a year on Mars is the same as 687 Earth days! Imagine if you lived on Mars, you would be almost half the age you were on Earth! I am 10 years old and I would be ⅚ if I was in Mars.

Appearance
Mars has red dusty lumpy rocks shaped like a potato. WARNING! watch out dust storm’s are ahead of you remember they destroy everything in their path. Mars is a planet but though there is no H2O. Obvious no humans can ever live there.

Mars is our neighbor so it is the fourth planet from the sun. Do you wonder how old you will be when your age is in earth how old do you think you will be? Though Mars is a planet 2 USA people went to Mars to see was going on wrong when they thought something happened.

Conclusion
Now you have learned so much things if that is not enough well then travel to Mars by clicking on this site down here.
